This 100% Vegan Luxury Resort Belongs on Your Bucket List

Posted on May 19, 2024July 16, 2024

There are certain places that just speak to you on a soul level before you’ve even set foot there. The kind of spot that, as soon as you discover it, instantly etches itself onto your travel vision board. That’s exactly how I felt the first time The Stanford Inn By The Sea landed on my radar.

This rustic yet luxurious Mendocino inn has secured a top spot on my 2024 wish list. I’ve visited the charming coastal town many times before, usually opting to stay right on the beach. But The Stanford Inn, tucked away in a redwood forest, promises the vegan-friendly getaway of my dreams. Sweeping ocean views, cozy accommodations with wood-burning fireplaces, scenic hiking trails to explore with my pup – what’s not to love?

But as a plant-based foodie, it’s the inn’s restaurant and cooking classes that really have me starry-eyed. Ravens Restaurant is renowned for its innovative vegan menus featuring fresh, local, and organic ingredients – many harvested from their own certified organic gardens and farm.

The breakfast menu alone has my mouth watering at the thought of digging into dishes like a wild mushroom and creamy polenta Benedict or a light and flaky sea palm strudel. As one reviewer gushed, “The food was so flavorful and creative, I forgot I was eating vegan!”[1]

For dinner, the menu at Ravens Restaurant sounds like a dream come true for a vegan foodie like me. Instead of the usual uninspired veggie platters, they get creative showcasing the best locally-sourced ingredients Mendocino has to offer. One night you might be digging into a dish featuring fresh-caught seaweed straight from the coast. The next, savoring foraged chanterelle mushrooms plucked straight from the forest. It’s food that celebrates and connects you to the natural surroundings in the most delicious way possible.[1]

What really sets this place apart for me is their true commitment to sustainability – it’s woven into everything they do, not just for show. They use eco-friendly cleaning products, have electric vehicles, and prioritize recycling and composting. It’s a place where I can indulge in luxury and delicious vegan food without any of the guilt. True relaxation and rejuvenation.

I can’t think of a more idyllic vegan-friendly destination for reconnecting with nature without sacrificing luxury. The Stanford Inn By The Sea is firmly planted at the top of my 2024 travel wish list, and I can’t wait to one day experience its magic firsthand.
